MYTHS ABOUT LEARNING TO SING

There's a presistant myth that only the "naturally gifted" can ever be good singers. This is understandable because many people struggle with being able to sing on key while others seem to be able to sing beautifully with little practice.

While it is true that some people are naturally gifted singers and it does come harder for others, it is not true that learning how to sing is not possible just because you cannot sing well now. Almost anyone can learn how to sing well. The only people who really cannot learn how to sing are those who have a serious physical or mental issue which would impede vocal training. And the very rare case of tone deafness.

WHAT IF I AM TONE DEAF?

You may think you are tone deaf because you cannot sing on key. This does not mean you are tone deaf! It simply means you need to learn proper singing technique. Tone deafness is actually a very rare condition that very few people have. It means that you have absolutely no ability to tell two different tones apart from each other! If you are into music it's highly unlikely that you are tone deaf!

HOW CAN I LEARN TO SING?

You can hire a personal vocal coach of course. The problems with this choice are many fold. For one many vocal coaches actually don't teach the best methods for learning to sing and may actually deter your progress! For another they tend to be very expensive. For another you may feel self conscious about singng in front of someone else when you are you just beginning or you may clash personally with the coach.

For all of these reasons I would suggest you get a high quality "learn at home" singing guide like Singorama which is designed to take you from whatever your current ability level is to the professional level within just three months.

Whether you are currently not able to "carry a tune in a bucket" or if you feel you are already a pretty good singer you just want to expand your range and your control this is probably the right program for you. Plus it's totally guaranteed so if it doesn't work, it's really no big issue getting your money back anyway. Another very cool thing about Singorama singing lessons is that they can be downloaded instantly (you can actually be using it within a few minutes of right now.)

HOW GOOD CAN I GET?

Well I won't tell you you will necessarily become the best singer in the world, but you can probably become a much better singer than you imagine you can.

You must set aside self doubt and reach for your dreams. If you want to be a singer, become a singer! Don't let anyone (including yourself) tell you that you cannot succeed.

Great hub! Singorama Rocks. It worked for me. I couldn't sing at all before I bought it a few months ago - now ... Well not to toot my own horn - but I'm pretty good now. I can sing low & high and completely in tune! It's an amazing feeling. I'm finally living my dream and singing with a band.
